Yesterday we told you about LP3, the new album from Ratatat (make yo neck snap back, fool!). The album’s first single, “Shiller”, builds slow, mincing haunted-house keys with baroque harp and other blippity bloops. Picture Joanna Newsom (not singing, thankfully) in a spacesuit, inside the brain of Stephen King, and you’re close. Things get all Castlevania near the end, with synths triumphantly zipping by like they’re on their way to slay some vampire ass. It’s relatively beautiful; and a nice change for this usually rowdier duo.
