You can’t really have a rock festival in Detroit without one of the D’s hardest working and rocking-ist rock bands, now can you? Nope, you can’t. That is why we are happy to announce the final addition to the Rock City lineup: The Hard Lessons! Fresh off a West Coast tour, THL will join Matt and Kim, Thunderbirds are Now!, Javelins, and DJ Franki Chan in the Majestic Theatre on Thursday, June 12, at 10:15 pm. Bring some earplugs, yo.
There’s been a lot of hoopla concerning a certain mishap that went down at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit (CAID) over the weekend; yes, the same spot we’re hosting our Saturday BBQ. But fret not, blog readers and rock fans — the BBQ is still taking place as planned, SWAT free. As an added bonus, the BBQ will only cost you $10 to get in — if, in fact, this is the show you only want to attend. If you have a $30 weekend pass for the whole festival, or a $20 pass for Saturday night, free entry to the BBQ is part of the deal. Detour is for the children!
Buy tix here, and get ready for an awesome weekend!
