>>> Hot on the heels of the well-received The Stage Names, Okkervil River will be releasing follow-up The Stands Ins September 9 on Jagjaguwar. Totally unrelated, we think it’s funny to call nude beaches Knockerville Rivers. (via Pitchfork)

>>> Quiet folk contemporaries Ida will be releasing the My Fair, My Dark EP on Polyvinyl Records this August. Yeah, not that exciting, until we realized that the Band’s Levon Helm plays on a couple of songs. Levon! Helm! DUDE! Ida also has some shows lined up. The afformentioned rock heavyweights will be paying tribute to the Who at the third annual VH1 Rock Honors, taking place at L.A.’s Pauley Pavilion on July 12. The Who will also play, despite their age. (via Stereogum)

>>> Xiu Xiu are probably one of the strangest bands to ever cross our earholes (and eyeballs… seriously, what is going on here?). They are taking their odd-ball antics to the road, kicking things off August 14 in LA, and wrapping up mid-September. More dates are here. (via

>>> Lots of people are freaking out about the return of My Bloody Valentine, but did you know that Swervedriver — another important cog in the machine we like to call shoegaze — is also touring this summer? Well, now you do. Check out tour dates, and read an interview with head Swerve Adam Franklin here. (via Brooklyn Vegan)

>>> Iowa’s 80/35 Festival takes place July 4-5, and will be headlined by the Flaming Lips, the Roots, Drive-By Truckers, Andrew Bird, and a while bunch more. Swear to God, if the Flaming Lips headline one more festival this summer, we’re going to start buying stock. (via Pitchfork)

The Daily Fix is compiled every day by Ryan Allen. The Lips have sure come a long way, haven’t they?
