Coming straight for your dome, Detour brings you the Daily Fix. The DF filters and compiles all the latest in music, film, and WTF!? news that the Interdork has to offer. We do this for you everyday, so you don’t have to. So, read on and get your fix…

Dave Matthews wins! First, it was My Morning Jacket. Then, fucking Radiohead, for God’s sake. Now ATO Records — the label founded by Matthews — just recently signed our favorite MILF-rocker, Liz Phair. Horndogs can expect a new album sometime in the fall. ‘Til then, you can fuck and run to the record store and pick up Phair’s ATO-reissued classic Exile in Guyville on June 24. (via Pitchfork)

This May, America is gonna get hives. Hives the band, that is. After touring arenas with light funky ones Maroon 5, Sweden’s well-dressed punk suitors will take their pretentious little asses on a short US tour. Hate to say we told you so, but dates are below:
5-15 – Atlanta, GA- Center Stage
5-16 – Nashville, TN – Wildhorse
5-17 – Indianapolis, IN – The Vogue Theatre
5-18 – Milwaukee, WI – The Rave
5-19 – Fargo, ND – Playmaker’s
5-25 – Spokane, WA – Big Easy Concert House
5-26 – Quincy, WA – Gorge Amphitheatre

The keytar is back. At least according to Shy Child. Huge in the UK, the New York drums ‘n synth duo are set to release their Kill Rock Star’s debut — Noise Won’t Stop — May 20th. They’ll also hit the road, starting in Chicago on May 2. The lady in in this video is surely psyched. Tour dates:
5-2 Chicago, IL – Double Door
5-3 Toronto, ON – Anti
5-4 Montreal, QC – Les Saints
5-6 Washington, DC – The Black Cat
5-7 Philadelphia, PA – Johnny Brenda’s
5-8 New York, NY – Bowery Ballroom

Sub Pop University? Well, not quite. But the esteemed record label that gave the world Nirvana, and, uh, Velocity Girl, is giving away a scholarship. Last year, they gave it all away to this guy. They’re doing it again this year, except they’re offering three total scholarships (one for $6,000 and two for $3,500). We guess putting those Shins records out wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Slanted and enchanted? Former Pavement guitar-slinger, and current Jick-head Stephen Malkmus was recently featured on Fox News channel’s Red Eye. Host Greg Gutfeld — a grown-up version of a Little Rascal if we’ve ever seen one — awkwardly interviews the lanky indie-rocker about his new album, Real Emotional Trash. Btw, dig that font guys. Looks like a horrible Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker movie from 1995. (via Stereogum)

And finally, in total douche-bag news, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett (born Richard Ream) was arrested on a rape warrant for an incident that occurred at Silver Star Casino in Philadelphia last September. You know it’s a sad world we live in, when a dude that’s probably banged a billion groupies, has to force somebody to have sex with them against their will. Or maybe he just needs his own Rock of Love. (via
